ABOUT
FiXT Neon
An artist-owned label putting artists first

FiXT Neon is an artist-owned, independent record label covering creations across a full spectrum of retro synth music, including synthwave, indie pop, cyberpunk, and more. Like the original FiXT label, FiXT Neon was born from a commitment to providing artists with creative liberty and fair compensation, cultivating inspired creations and ensuring fans receive more music from the artists they love.
The Founding
FiXT Neon’s guiding principles were developed through owner and co-founder Klayton’s experiences as an artist and his relationships with record labels, experiences that are familiar to many creators. Lopsided income splits, overly strict creative input, and poor communication from record labels proved to be more harmful than otherwise to Klayton’s career, and his response was to strike out on his own and handle the duties of a label himself.
That DIY mindset was solidified and turned into increasingly significant successes by co-founder James Rhodes, a fan of Klayton’s Celldweller and Circle of Dust projects who had a strong work ethic and a vision for music promotion that allowed artists to reach their full potential. From Klayton and James’ partnership in the early 2000s came FiXT, a label dedicated to offering its artists a creative partnership and an opportunity to turn their passion into a viable career.
After more than a decade of experience in the worlds of electronic rock and EDM, Klayton and James successfully applied the principles they’d learned from the label to Klayton’s retro synth project, Scandroid. That undertaking led to the creation of FiXT Neon, a label destination for artists working within synthwave, indie pop, chillwave, and related genres.

Building a New Retro Future
The New Era
FiXT Neon was built on years of work originating with the Scandroid project in 2012, and since then the label has brought the music of artists including Mega Drive, Fury Weekend, Essenger, Scandroid, LeBrock, and PYLOT to millions of fans across the globe. The label’s team consists of offices in Los Angeles, Denver, and Iowa, with over 20 employees, designers, writers, and publicists contributing from different corners of the world, including Chile, Ukraine, New Zealand, and more.
The vision for FiXT Neon as a groundbreaking label came into greater clarity in 2019 with the addition of Preston Avery joining the label’s A&R and marketing team. Known for his genre articles, album reviews, and popular Spotify playlists as Iron Skullet, Preston Avery is recognized as an expert on ’80s revival genres, and his deep knowledge of retro synth creations enabled FiXT Neon to expand its roster with talented and cutting-edge artists.
In early 2019 FiXT launched also launched FiXT Gaming, a new division focused on connecting music and gaming that pulls creations from the FiXT and FiXT Neon labels. The company also launched its own Twitch Stream Team and provides premium stream-safe music to live-streamers on Twitch, Mixer, Facebook and YouTube.
Klayton and James’ guiding principles remain the same today as they were in the early 2000s: to find the most talented and hard-working artists and give them the support structure and guidance they need to build sustainable careers. FiXT’s desire to bring out the best in its artists continues to inform every decision made by the label, ensuring that creators are able to guide their sound and aesthetic while providing fans with high-quality music.
